Chemistry is the fascinating study of the building blocks of matter that help us understand the material world that God has created structured and organized Learning how to make new forms of matter out of the raw materials found in creation is a profoundly important culture-making activity Consider the impact of modern medicine and sanitation fertilizers and pesticides plastics and metallurgy materials that power computers and the internet fossil fuels and emerging clean energy technologies all of which have arisen out of chemical innovations In this program you will develop a rich understanding of the role of chemistry in shaping the modern world as well as learn what it means to care for all of God s creation as you wrestle with the fact that chemistry has contributed to but also holds the promise of solutions to many of the environmental and human health challenges of the 21st century
