Are you curious about the landforms and landscapes that make up the Earth s surface What about the effect of the environment on human health Are you concerned about the human dimensions of climate change and the extent and effects of deforestation The changing patterns of agricultural and urban land use Are you an inquisitive person If yes then the BSc Geography Major program is your match The program provides you with strong training in systematic areas of physical geography geomorphology hydrology soil biogeochemistry biogeography and climatology You ll explore the science of how physical chemical and biological processes interact at various spatial and temporal scales to produce distinct environments on the planet and study different suites of ecosystem services while investigating sustainability challenges for human communities that depend on them Included are field courses that provide hands-on exposure to environmental data collection as well as courses in quantitative techniques such as GIS and Remote Sensing
