Program overview

To apply for the M.S. program in chemical engineering, you’re expected to have a B.S. degree in chemical engineering. We do occasionally admit students from other disciplines, such as chemistry, physics, mathematics, or other fields of engineering. Special courses to make up any chemical engineering deficiency are required if you’re accepted. Email russgradinfo@ohio.edu(opens in a new window) for more info.

Master's level students generally are required to take a minimum of 21 semester hours of graduate-level coursework, 12 of which consist of courses in four chemical engineering core areas (applied calculations, thermodynamics, reaction engineering, and transport phenomena).
