Biomedical Science is at the forefront of pioneering advances in medicine In our leading-edge biomedical laboratory facility set in the heart of our historic campus you ll explore this vibrant field joining our Biosciences group that has been rated 6th in the UK for overall student satisfaction by the Guardian League Table 2020 Through a series of health laboratory challenges you ll be trained in the diagnosis monitoring treatment and prevention of disease With a focus on practical exploration and assessment these exercises will build your capability and confidence to undertake your own laboratory research You ll also have the opportunity to develop your skills and employability through work-based modules ranging from short internships to year-long placements You ll finish the course well-prepared to graduate to a career in medical research and health service or to progress to professional training in medicine dentistry nursing or teaching
